FAIB emergency paediatric first aid course is 1 day of hands on, face to face training with our professional trainer.

Who is the course suitable for?

This course is suitable for those within Early Years who are working as part of a team with other staff who hold a Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate. Under the Ofsted guidelines a nursery is required to carry out a risk assessment and ensure that an adequate number of staff are First Aid trained.

This does not replace the full Paediatric First Aid Training (12 hours) This course is designed as a top up to refresh skills 

What will I learn on this course?

By the end of the FAIB Emergency Paediatric First Aid course, you will be able to:

  • Respond confidently to paediatric emergencies
  • Perform CPR on babies and children
  • Place an unresponsive child or infant in the recovery position
  • Recognise and manage choking, seizures, shock, and breathing difficulties
  • Treat minor and severe bleeding, burns, scalds, and fractures
  • Assess a child in an emergency and prioritise care
  • Understand common childhood illnesses and medical emergencies
  • Apply your skills in practical, scenario-based exercises
  • Maintain safety and comply with paediatric first aid regulations
